What forms of energy do we consume?

Oil, an "exhaustive examination" ...
When considering oil, I have included oil and all petroleum products:
Motor vehicle gasoline - all grades of fuel oil for motor vehicles
Diesel oil - includes diesel fuel, and light heating oil for industrial/commercial
Kerosene - medium oil between gasoline and diesel oil (for heating purposes and other uses)
Heavy fuel oil residual - home heating oil
Gas oil & naphtha - used as a feedstock for the petrochemical industry
Other products - Aviation gasoline, jet fuel, liquefied petroleum gases (LPG), ethane, and other petroleum products

A quick summary of this table:
- The biggest consumer of oil is the USA, by far!
- In second place is China with 33% of the US’s consumption
- Japan is the 3rd largest consumer of oil at 27% of the US, and the numbers drop off quickly after that
These facts seem to shed light on currents events. Clearly the US has the most to gain and lose regarding oil. Japan has no oil resources in their region. 100% of Japanese oil is imported. Who provides major funds for the US involvement in Iraq? You guessed it, Japan!
